Chinese National Holiday in Yangshuo

Our family had the amazing opportunity to travel to Yangshuo last month for the week-long holiday. Brad was able to come home from Germany and join us. It was truly a remarkable don't see this scenery everyday. Especially glad that David has been living with us these past 3 months and was able to experience it as well.

We ate at a farmer's restaurant right on the river....this is how they wash the dishes!

Bamboo rafting down the Yulong River...the river guides pushed us down with their poles for 2-1/2 hours!

Dragon Bridge crossing the Yulong River

Many water level changes down the river

Beautiful Kardst mountains

View from our hotel room....if you look close toward the top right of the photo you can see the "Golden Arches"!!

Walking through a small village

Farmer's market tailor

The four of us...down below Li River valley

Boats that we took down the Li River

Scenery as we rode down the Li River

Touring a Chinese cultural village

Another gorgeous view

With our tour guide, Lily....she was the best!

In a Nutshell......

I have really been bad at keeping up with this's not that I don't have the time....just not sure if anyone even cares to read it!!  Oh well...I'm keeping this more for a journal anyway.

I wanted to document our summer vacation (or I should say mine as Brad was in Germany for the entire summer except for a two week trip to the U.S. in August)......I spent a glorious 8 weeks with family and friends. In a nutshell.....

Spent a day in Jackson Hole with my boys....first time fun!

Las Vegas Flamingo Hilton at the Donny and Marie Show celebrating my mom's 75th birthday, with my sister Susan, her daughter Katie and my cousin Linda

Stadium of Fire Brad Paisley concert with Ashley....thank you Ashley for a wonderful birthday treat!

Candlewood Lake, Brookfield, Connecticut.....thank you friends for making my stay such a memorable one.....I still think this is one of the most beautiful places on the earth and count my blessings every day I was fortunate to spend 6 years here!

Sun Valley, Idaho

Redfish Lake, Idaho.....thank you to Tara and Lloyd Casperson for allowing us to share a little bit of their paradise....we now know why Ashley loves it so much here....breathtaking!

Stanley, Idaho....standing just outside the building we met in for those Sawtooth Mountains!

Five different states in eight weeks....not too bad! Can't wait for next summer's adventures!

The Dog Gone Days of .......Harry!

Our six-year old Bearded Collie, Harry, is living the good life these days. After spending the morning sunning himself on our balcony, he ended up in the living room for his afternoon nap.....and this is what I found....too funny!!

Wake Up Call

The past several mornings I have woken to puttering sounds outside my bedroom window.....cute little Chinese "junk" boats sputtering out to Shenzhen Bay for their morning cute (except on the weekend when I want to sleep in past 6 am)!

A Funny Sign

I've been meaning to post this photo for some time. This was taken at my local Walmart here in Shenzhen--just as you are heading up the escalator.....I can't say I've ever been warned about this before!

Holiday Happenings 2010

We were blessed to have our entire family come home (to China that is) for Christmas this year! We had the opportunity to spend two whole weeks with each was fantastic. Spent the first part of our vacation in Hong Kong, then on to Phuket, Thailand for five days in the sun at beautiful Kamala Beach, and then back home to China for shopping, pampering and sightseeing.

Here are some of the photo highlights of our trip!

Gotta love a good foot massage....Justin and David's first!
